The achievement of the intended result, in my opinion, is what distinguishes a good media campaign. According to an article from the National Library of Medicine, mass media campaigns are frequently used to expose significant percentages of huge populations to messages through regular uses of existing media, such as television, radio, and newspapers. Therefore, exposure to such messages is typically passive. Such campaigns frequently face competition from aspects like widespread marketing strategies, strong social standards, and habitual or addictive behaviors. Mojo Media Labs lists eight steps that can be taken to maximize outcomes when developing a media campaign. The list contained the following recommendations, in that order: being aware of the campaign's overall objective; selecting the best way to advertise the campaign on each social media platform; planning the content one would post on specific days on a schedule for each social media platform used; working on visual content; establishing a posting schedule; monitoring and responding to the audience; following up even after the event or promotion has taken place, if necessary; and, finally, reviewing the analytic data.
I feel like I did an adequate job of providing an educational and informative tone when presenting the research on Iranian politics given the nature of this assignment, the details I was trying to gather about the political situation in Iran, as well as the time constraints of having to turn in the assignments required for the summer quarter. The use of visual media was one of the points made in the list of suggestions for structuring a social media campaign successfully above. Throughout the website, but especially in my blog entries, I lacked graphics. My main objective was to inform and educate anyone who would be curious about or want to learn more about the current climate in Iran. I could have incorporated images that were pertinent to the global issue I selected for this media campaign assignment, but I was only given a short amount of time to go back and make adjustments in a few places. To clarify further on one of my acts that helped my media campaign attempt, I could say that Twitter did contribute to getting people who were interested in my subject to explore my website more. Regarding the media campaign's success, I am confident that the Twitter account I set up for this website was effective in attracting the public's attention.
When asking questions such as "Where do we go from here? What should we focus on? How can we continue to educate ourselves? " In terms of what was learned about the political situation in Iran, my answer is simple: continue to educate yourself on the subject, participate in organizations that are rooted in serving as advocates for the Iranian population, and, most importantly, research and vote for representatives who support the overall rights of the Iranian people, as the issue can only be resolved and addressed at the political level. Without a doubt, Iran's government structure is defective and thus has an impact on the lives of its people, as well as taking part in several other issues between other countries. Individuals must vote for leaders who will address the Iranian government's actions to reach some type of resolution.
